OUTREACH LIFTS CONTRACT FOR PIPE HANDLING SYSTEM

Outreach Ltd has received a major contract to supply an offshore pipe handler for a deepwater platform in the Gulf of Mexico.

The contract involves the design and manufacture of the PKM900T knuckle boom pipe handler, to be delivered by Outreach in August 2010.

Together with the recent order of two Outreach offshore access systems to a drilling contractor in the Gulf of Mexico, this latest contract award means that Outreach has achieved combined sales of over $1.5 million in this territory in the last quarter.

The PKM900T is the latest model in the Outreach range of knuckle boom pipe handlers.

It has a 25 metre boom and a lifting capacity of 3.5 tonnes. It is used to transfer pipe from the pipe deck directly to the V-door, catwalk or conveyor and back. The use of high tensile strength materials has delivered improved performance with no commensurate increase in weight. Other improvements include a larger cabin to provide a more comfortable working environment for the operator.

Outreach has supplied over 50 knuckle boom pipe handlers and access systems to oil and gas installations across the globe since 1992.
